Random Acts of Kindness: July Edition

|

Hello dear reader!

Welcome to our July Edition of Random Acts of Kindness!

Thank you for following our blog. We share information here about getting out of debt, the benefits of bankruptcy, and tips on savvy financial management, saving more and spending less. Certainly, these are critical topics for our financial futures, but we also like to share stories on random acts of kindness. Just some feel-good news to remind us of the good in the world!

Stories of kind people going out of their way to rescue an animal in need are not uncommon. Certainly, our companion animals hold a special place in our hearts. Sometimes a random act of kindness comes from one of these dear animals.

Peanut was once a homeless dog in the Delta Animal Shelter in Michigan. She arrived at the shelter with broken legs, broken ribs, and a stomach full of carpet. Peanut (then named “Petunia”) was nursed to health and found her forever home with a nearby family.

About a year after her adoption, Peanut became a hero when she was credited for saving the life of a 3 year old girl. One morning Peanut “started going crazy” and was “running up and down the stairs, barking and yelping.” Peanut’s odd behavior captured the attention of one of her owners. When he let her outside she “went barreling into the field” behind her house at full speed. Her owner followed her and found Peanut standing over a naked, shivering 3 year old girl curled up in a ball.

Peanut’s owner scooped up the child and took her into the house. He called 911 and when the ambulance and police arrived, the little girl could only say one thing – “doggie.”

Thankfully the young girl was not injured. The police eventually found the girl’s parents and their investigation found unsafe and unsanitary living conditions at the residence. The young girl Peanut rescued, along with another young girl, were removed from the residence.

You can read the full account of this amazing story in the letter Peanut’s family wrote to the Delta Animal Shelter here.

Thank you Delta Animal Shelter for doing all you can to help abused, abandoned, and otherwise stranded animals! Thank you to Peanut’s family for adopting this wonderful animal and giving her a second chance at life!

It doesn’t take money or talent to be kind. Give random acts of kindness a try. We’d love to hear about the kindness you spread into the world! Feel free to post stories about your acts of kindness on our Facebook page!

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.”
